Hello TRH Family! I hope you are well and enjoying your summer fun. It has been 8 months since we’ve launched The Readers Huddle by debuting our flagship title, Uno The One-Legged Spider. We are so thankful for your continued encouragement and patronage. The path to being an independent publisher, authorpreneur, and illustrator is ever winding, but we love it and take each step with gratitude.
Let’s start with what’s new. Our website has had a bit of an update and holds a fun summer packet available to people who register, so be sure to tell your friends to visit us. We are also honored to have received the BILL FISHER AWARD FOR BEST FIRST BOOK: CHILDREN'S / YOUNG ADULT from the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). The awards program had over a thousand entries and little Uno received silver for this category. To say we were ecstatic to receive such recognition is an understatement! Since starting this publishing company, we have had the privilege of participating in community events such as the City of Sugar Land Farmers Market, Neill Elementary’s School Literacy Night, FBISD Bookapalooza, and Harvest Green’s Leap Into Literacy event. We are so excited to boost our community reach as we participate in more events to bring our titles to eager young readers. In addition to local connections, we are extremely thrilled to branch out to the world as we begin to translate our titles to German and Spanish. Many of you know foreign language is a passion of mine, so this just sends me into a flutter! Uno will be available auf Deutsch (in German) this month of June. Due to this wonderful language adaptation, we plan to have a mini book tour this fall as we travel to a few bookstores abroad. You can follow our book travel journey on our two YouTube channels, @TheReadersHuddle and @BigBlueMarbleGo. Also, let’s not forget about Court Nee, the author of Malcolm’s Monsters and Would You Rather Elf (WYRE). She now has a sister company to provide clientele with wearable custom art, both based on the characters from our brand or most anything straight from YOUR imagination. The site CourtLikesToDraw.com will launch this week for your custom shoe requests. You may find further info under our More Fun tab.
Now, for what’s to come. We will begin translating our titles to Spanish and other languages this year. Our goal is to make our creations available to as many eager readers as possible, so we don’t want language to be a barrier for that. Another exciting tidbit that we cannot wait to share is that Max the Mockingbird will be in a winter story this year! We know that our early readers will have a good time with Max as he mimics sounds in a fun holiday adventure. In addition to the aforementioned, we are beefing up our curriculum materials, to better supplement our teachers, parents, and homeschoolers.
As you can see, we’re keeping quite busy providing the Readers Huddle family our best products and experiences. However, we need your help! We would truly appreciate your reviews. If you frequent Goodreads, Amazon, or any other book sites, we would enjoy a kindly worded review or video experience. We need your feedback, especially for our newer titles. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and now, TikTok. Letting your friends and relatable establishments know about our brand gives us a great boost. The more word of mouth from others, the better our opportunity for exposure and making great connections with wonderful readers!
As always, we value you as well as the love and encouragement that you give to our company.
With much gratitude,
Brandee Huddleston
